Young Heroes Award
Where are our Young Heroes of Connecticut?
The REACH Foundation's Young Hero Award recognizes those children who are truly making and difference and have gone above and beyond and given back to their community. We want to honor those children who have gone above and beyond and give back to their community.
Students will be honored and recognized for modeling public service and making a difference in the state of Connecticut. We're looking for icons who are serving their community, an inspiration to their peers, or who have simply inspired others through their deeds. Students may be from any sector of school- public, private, or home school. Any child living in Connecticut and is between 6th-12th grade is eligible to be nominated. The student’s efforts must have occurred within the year. We want to acknowledge children who are doing extraordinary deeds, ones who should be commended for their actions.
Nominators must be 21 years or older and not in the Student’s immediate family (Mother, Father, Siblings). Some examples are teachers, coaches, mentors, neighbors, etc. We will accept nominations starting September 1, 2015. The deadline to apply is January 15, 2016. Eight Young Heroes will be selected and awarded for making a difference. The Young Heroes will be chosen based on the benefits and outcomes of their acts.
The Young Heroes will be recognized at an Awards Ceremony in April 2016 where family, friends, and supporters will gather to honor these incredible children. Each child will receive a plaque, an educational gift, as well as a fun, tailored Young Heroes Day in Connecticut just for them!
